What is the Paranormal?
The paranormal describes anything ‘not normal’. This can include spirits, ghosts and even abilities such as telekinesis, aura reading and clairvoyance (just to name a few).
Mostly when dealing with ghosts, a haunting often takes place either at a residence, a landmark or field. It’s important to understand there is several types of hauntings. For this section, we’ll mention two: Intelligent and Residual
Intelligent hauntings ( also known as "sentient hauntings") are described where any ghosts can communicate directly with you and interact with the world around them. Most hauntings in a location are intelligent. It’s important to note that ghosts can and often do lie. Do not always take what a ghost communicates to you as fact.
Residual hauntings get into what’s referred to as the ‘Stone Tape Theory’. In basic terms, events leave a mark in which the Earth is said to absorb, and replays this event over and over. Perfect examples of this are battlefields. If you’re visiting a battlefield, and you hear war cries, cannons shooting: most likely that is a residual haunting. You can not interact with residuals.
